Main Duties:

The Director of Operations role involves a wide range of responsibilities including: managing the professional day to day operation of the hotel ensuring customers are delighted with the hotel’s service, Company standards are met and delivered consistently with attention to detail and budgeted profitability is achieved. The Director of Operations has an important role in promoting our purpose, values and behaviours at all times. The Director of Operations is responsible for leading, coaching and developing the team and creating a energised environment which promotes good Team Member morale, ensuring a high level of commitment and pride in the hotel in order that our teams create a memorable experience for our customers on every occasion.

Previous experience

The successful applicant must have previous experience as an Operations Manager within a high volume, branded environment, possess financial and commercial awareness, have good knowledge of current legislation including Health and Safety, Food Safety, Liquor Licensing and Employment Law. The successful applicant must have proven experience in leading, motivating and developing Managers and Team Members.

We are a leading Hotel in the city centre of Leeds with 333 bedrooms. We have had significant investment from our owners in our famous “ sky lounge “ cocktail bar and rooftop terrace , allowing us to further reposition it as a premium all day offering in the city . In addition, the newly formed “ The Lock “ kitchen , deli , bar and terrace on the ground floor has been a great success trading almost as a stand-alone restaurant within the hotel. We are now also about to undertake a major refurbishment of our meeting product , securing the hotels leading position in the city . This hotel is the flagship property within the Valor Hospitality portfolio and this role has already been the stepping stone into a General Management for the last two Director of Operations in this business .
