In this role you will be working for Valor Hospitality Europe which is part of a leading US hotel management company with 17 properties in the UK comprising of 7 Crowne Plaza, 1 Holiday Inn, 3 DoubleTree by Hilton, 3 Hilton Garden Inn, 1 Hotel Indigo, and 2 AC Hotels. The Company has exciting expansion plans to add more hotels in the UK and Europe.

Main Duties:

The Group Management Accountant role involves a range of duties, including ensuring that all accounting records are prepared accurately, timely, informatively and in line with all Company policies reflecting statutory compliance. The Group Management Accountant will coach, guide and support the Valor Office finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Director the Group Management Accountant will contribute to the business by providing appropriately informative and well-presented information to the team to assist in analysing trends, future forecasting and budgeting. The Group Management Accountant will ensure accuracy and adherence to company policy and statutory compliance. A key part of the central finance team you will work closely with hotels and finance teams promoting the Company purpose, values and behaviours at all times.

Key Accountabilities of the Group Management Accountant role are:

• Team Development and Leadership • • Build and manage a first class central finance team, role model our values and behaviours



• Financial Reporting • • To ensure that all monthly management accounts are prepared accurately in a timely and informative manner, including variance analysis, KPI reports.
• • Prepare monthly reports for stakeholders with comparisons to budget and last year.
• • To prepare Company monthly management accounts, including balance sheet and cash flow reconciliations where required.
• • To ensure accuracy and adherence to company policy and statutory compliance in relation to: • • • the accounts payable process
• • • the treasury function
• • • Central balance sheet control accounts
• • • hotel forecasts and analysis
• • • leisure club revenue


• • Systems Expert • • • Day to day responsibility for all financial systems


• • Budget Management • • • Support the development of a robust budgetary process for the group including individual and multiple group reporting capabilities, including variance analysis by brand, property size and comparable indicators. Banking requirements differ, so the budget model needs to be able to cope with different external outputs.


• • Financial Modelling & Planning • • • Support the production of three and five year numbers
• • • Prepare complex and diverse feasibilities
• • • Run and manage forecasting models


• • Leading and supporting business growth
• • To support the Finance Director on acquisitions through review of data and liaising with sellers on the completion accounts and other financial matters.
• • The smooth integration of new acquisitions or disposals from a finance perspective

Previous experience

The successful applicant must have previous proven experience in a similar role preferably in hospitality, tourism or leisure industry. With all round proven experience in finance, including budgeting, forecasting and production of period end accounts, the successful applicant will be able to communicate at all levels, possess strong interpersonal skills, an analytical ability and a good instinct for business and effective leadership skills.
